As I said here, our electric bill was insane last month, due in a large part to us running the air conditioning. Our apartment is not huge, so we figured a 200 dollar bill was a bit steep, especially since our friend who lives here has a four bedroom duplex and his bill was a lot less. (He runs his at about the same temperature AND has an electric dryer, so we figured something was up.)
Anyway, after much complaining (and bringing in bills and a graph of our electric usage) our apartment complex management finally concluded that something was wrong. They have agreed to look at our air conditioning unit again, and also reimburse us 50 dollars for our high bill last month! Yay!
Guess the squeaky wheel really does get the grease.

Good for you! And keep on squeaking until they find out what's wrong with it or replace it. If they won't even allow you to have your own unit, they have to take responsibility for theirs!
Awesome! I'll have to keep after our Water people! Same deal...something was clearly wrong. They said we used 19,000 gallons of water in 20 days!!!! In the 18 years we have been married, the most we have EVER used is 6,000 gallons in one month! No WD-40 here...the squeak will continue!
