Selling Books on Cash 4 Books

Have you heard about Cash 4 Books? It is an interesting business that I wish I had known about when I was trying to sell books on Amazon. I did sell a lot on Amazon, but I had to wait and I never knew if or when it was going to sell. Cash 4 Books tells you right away if they are going to accept your book. The best part is that if they accept your book, they even pay the shipping! There is a label you print out, and you just hand your box off to a post office clerk.

I sold one book, and while it did not earn me a fabulous amount of money, it was more than I would have gotten for it selling it another way with far less hassle! I've already earned $5.50 for our $3000 dollar challenge, and it was for a novel I bought used to read for the book club I belong to. I would have had to price that for .99 cents for it to move on Amazon, and bidding on E-bay for this novel is not much higher.

If you have books that are just taking up space on your shelf, you might give Cash 4 Books a look.

I found out about Cash 4 Books from Crystal at Biblical Womanhood. Thanks, Crystal!

Ebay Experiment: Success!

The boppy sold, and I made 1.64 more than I paid for it. My goal was to make at least 1.50, so I
barely made it. Still, I am encouraged to try this again. I can now enjoy my 1.50 linen lined J. Jill
linen pants that much more, knowing that it was paid for by selling something else. WOO-HOO!

Goals for 2007

What do you want to get done in 2007?

I want to do several things. We'll see how it goes!

FHP's Goals:

1. Find a way to earn a little bit of money from home, without having the home job take over my life. Crystal at Biblical Womanhood really inspired me with this post.

2. Clear out clutter from our home. We're pretty good at this, but the move from the apartment to the house showed us that we have a lot more stuff than we think. This can even tie in with my first goal, as I'm selling some of my books on Amazon, and I plan to E-bay some things. The DAV also picks up donations from our new neighborhood about once a month, so we've designated a bag in our closet to put things while we wait for the "we're coming to your area!" card in the mail.

3. Recycle more. Our trash pickup has recycling, so there is really no excuse.

4. Get things we need from yard sales, Freecycle, and thrift stores as often as possible. I already do this a lot, but I know that there have been a few things that I did not really *need* ASAP that I ran to Target for. I'm always annoyed when it turns up at a yard sale for less than half than I paid. I must learn to be more patient. Along with this, perhaps try to recoup the cost of my clothes, etc through getting something to sell when I shop. I got this idea from Meredith at Like Merchant Ships. I have not tried it yet, but it seems like a really great idea! Now I must figure out what will sell and what won't...

5. Eat out less, and when we do eat out, only eat at places that we have coupons for. We vow to eat out less every year. Buying the house helped us be a little more motivated.

That's my list for this year!

On a roll

I just listed several men's XL shirts (various types) on E-bay. Take a look!

Selling Books on Amazon

I'm selling some of my English books on Amazon. I was kind of nervous about doing it because I've never done it before, but it's going great! I listed them yesterday and have already sold one! Perhaps I have a future in Amazon sales?
