I am not new to computer or the internet. I had AOL not long after it came out, and thrilled in e-mailing my only other "online" friend. I had a web journal back in the day when they were still called that. Today I'm a relatively established blogger and teach online courses- but that does not mean that I know a lot about webhosting. When I decided to get a domain name for one of my other ventures, I was completely lost. The web can be a scary place full of scam artists, and I did not want to hand over hard earned money and not get what I paid for.

I could have used something like this when I was looking for a web host- I ended up using GoDaddy because they were the least expensive one that I'd heard good things about at the time. I was not sure who else to trust when I googled "web host" and ten billion other companies came up.

They have also put together a list of things to look for to make sure you don't get scammed, guides aimed at hosting newbies, and a FAQ section that won't make you feel like an idiot for not knowing something already. It's a good starting place for those who are not sure where to start.

I do not usually do paid reviews, because most of the things I could review would be completely out of place on a frugality blog, I made an exception for 100 Big Coupons. On the rare occasion that I actually buy something new online, I usually do a google search for coupon codes. This has saved me a bit of money here and there, but I had always wished there were an easy, and more important, reliable source that I could turn to, without having to fill in lots of information. I hate any source where I have to enter my e-mail address or any other information about myself to use the service. I also hate any page that is not fairly easy to navigate. I was impressed with 100 Big Coupons! You do not have to enter any information about yourself to use the information. They have a ton of retailers and the information is organized. If you want to, you can enter your e-mail address on specific retailers to be notified when that particular business has new offers, which could be useful if you were looking for something specific. I also liked that they listed several Amazon deals, instead of just the free shipping for orders over 25 dollars, which pretty much everybody already knows about, and if they do not know, will be informed of on the Amazon.com site. If you are already planning to buy something from an online source, or are researching prices, it would be worth a visit to 100 Big Coupons!
